What is a Learning Style?

Your personal learning style represents the most efficient (and natural) way for you to receive new information.

AUDITORY VISUAL KINESTHETIC

Auditory Learners tend to receive information best through sound (i.e. lectures, audio CDs, discussions).

Visual Learners receive information best through sight (i.e. whiteboards, PowerPoint presentations, reading material).

Kinesthetic Learners comprehend and retain information best when they are physically involved in the learning process.

What is a Thinking Style?

Your personal thinking style represents the most efficient (and natural) way for you to process new information.

LINEAR
(Left Brain-Dominant)

Linear Thinkers prefer a structured approach to learning. For instance, if a procedure involves a series of steps (such as Step A, Step B, Step C), linear thinkers will feel more comfortable starting Step B only after Step A has been fully completed. Linear thinkers generally keep their work space clean and organized.

                            GLOBAL
                    (Right Brain-Dominant)

Global Thinkers prefer to look at the "big picture" before starting a project. They dislike too much structure and tend to be late for appointments.  Global Thinkers generally have a messy workspace, but usually know where they keep their important items.
